Day two of PFP consisted of riding through downtown Macon, miles and miles of country side, and Wrightsville to get to our final destination in Swainsboro. Our escorted morning ride through Macon was awesome. The afternoon was excruciatingly hot, as we had no cloud cover. And, on another note, the ride was very grimy as the roads were traveled on by timber trucks and farm equipment. With every heavy vehicle that passed, you could literally see and feel the dirt coming up from the road sticking to your skin! :)
Our morning started off with an easy paced ride through Macon. We all rode together until we got outside of the city.
We rode past Mercer University:
Then, we all hit the open road at our own pace. Several of us rode a pace line for many miles. It was great working together to conserve energy early on in the ride!
We passed lots of pine trees and luscious corn fields. And, when Cindy and I stopped for a few minutes to cool off, we made some new friends too!
Beautiful courthouse in Wrightsville.
Lisa and Cindy rolling right along.
It felt every bit of 103.5 degrees of parts of this ride this afternoon!
Smiles as we roll into Swainsboro!!
Poolside gathering and dinner.
